10 Cybersecurity Conferences and Speaker Deadlines

Submitting to speak at cybersecurity conferences can be overwhelming. From the constantly shifting deadlines, abrupt changes to criteria, and the vast number of conferences in any one industry, making sure deadlines aren’t missed and the best content is submitted is a full-time job.

To make things easier, we’ve compiled 10 cybersecurity and information security conferences, including their dates, location, speaker submission details, and a brief event description.

1. Black Hat USA

August 4-9, 2018; Las Vegas, NV

Speaker Proposals: Call for papers closed April 9, 2018. Expect 2019’s proposals to be due around April 2019.

Now in its 21st year, Black Hat USA is the world’s leading information security event, providing attendees with the very latest in research, development and trends. Black Hat USA 2018 opens with four days of technical Trainings (August 4 – 7) followed by the two-day main conference (August 8 – 9) featuring Briefings, Arsenal, Business Hall, and more.

 

2. BSides Las Vegas

August 7-8, 2018; Las Vegas, NV

Speaker Proposals: Call for papers closed May 24, 2018. Expect 2019’s proposals to be due around May 2019.

BSidesLV is a non-profit educational organization designed to advance the body of Information Security knowledge, by providing an annual, two day, open forum for discussion and debate for security engineers and their affiliates. We produce a conference that is a source of education, collaboration, and continued conversation for information technologists and those associated with this field. The technical and academic presentations at BSidesLV are given in the spirit of peer review and advanced knowledge dissemination. This allows the field of Information Security to grow in breadth and depth, and to continue in its pursuit of highly advanced scientifically based knowledge.

3. ICS Cyber Security Conference

October 22-25, 2018; Atlanta, GA

Since 2002, the ICS Cyber Security Conference has gathered ICS cyber security stakeholders across various industries and attracts operations and control engineers, IT, government, vendors and academics.

Over the years, the focus of the conference has shifted from raising awareness towards sharing security event histories and discussing solutions and protection strategies.

As the longest-running cyber security-focused conference for the industrial control systems sector, the event will cater to the energy, utility, chemical, transportation, manufacturing, and other industrial and critical infrastructure organizations.

 

4. IEEE Cybersecurity Development Conference (IEEE SecDev)

September 30 – October 2, 2018; Cambridge, MA

Speaker Proposals: Call for speakers closed March 12, 2018. Expect 2019’s proposals to be due around February or March 2019.

SecDev is one of the most distinguished cybersecurity conferences that focuses on how to “build security in” (and not simply to discover the absence of security). Its goal is to encourage and disseminate ideas for secure system development among both academia and industry.

 

5. InfoSec World Conference

April 1-3, 2019; Lake Buena Vista, FL
